The History.

FGP Lufton Ltd was launched in November 2017 as an “Operate in Place” venture with Honeywell Aerospace.

FGP assumed total manufacturing responsibility for the products and processes previously carried out by Honeywell at the Lufton Site, including the existing people, plant and equipment. Since then the business has matured, invested and grown rapidly.

The 26,000+ sq feet factory building was originally designed to house a printing press for local newspaper. Located 2 miles from the main Honeywell site, it was perfectly placed to be leased by Honeywell from 1998 as the manufacturing facility for air conditioning packs for high speed trains. Since completion of the original contract and subsequent repair activities, Honeywell chose to exit this business, so the factory was then used for aerospace machining and special processes.

In June 2017 following a lengthy down select process FGP Systems was announced as the selected contractor by Honeywell to take ownership of the facility. FGP would be directly accountable for operational support of the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) value stream at the Yeovil main site. Under FGP control a new leadership team is in place and group operating systems (SCIPE / MRP) are fully active. A delivery performance improvement has already been acknowledged by Honeywell.

Proven capabilities.

FGP Lufton has an extensive portfolio of parts, including environmental control packs and cold air units for Honeywell. This proven capability and link with FGP Systems and RSC enables our precision manufacturing services to now be offered across the wider defence and aerospace sector.
