FGP Lufton now have 4 vacuum furnaces complete with ‘Upgraded Controls’ and ‘Hot Zones’ available for your Vacuum Heat Treat and Vacuum Brazing.
Steels Capabilities
- Carbon and Low Alloy Steel
- Martensitic corrosion resistant steel
- Austenitic corrosion resistant steel
- Precipitation hardening and Maraging Steel
- Stress Relieving and Thermal Cycling
- Sub Critical Annealing
Soft Iron, Nickel Iron Alloys, Radiometal and Mumetal capabilites.
- Magnetic annealing using slow cooling in a vacuum furnace to create optimum magnetic properties.
Titanium Capabilities
- Annealing and Stress Relieving
Aluminium Capabilities
- Stress relieving after machining and precipitation hardening after welding.
- Super annealing of tubes etc for fabrication surfaces
- Heat treatment of aluminum castings
Hardness and Conductivity capabilities
- Vickers hardness testing machines and a conductivity meter to evaluate heat treatments prior to sending for tensile testing if required (no captive laboratory)
Vacuum Brazing Capabilities
- Nickel and Copper brazing facility using paste or shim with additional heat treatments post brazing where required.
Equipment at this Nadcap accredited facility are surveyed in accordance with the requirements of AMS2750 (Pyrometry) and certified. All heat treatments are currently carried out in ovens using air cooling or vacuum furnaces using a forced gas (Argon or Nitrogen quench) using pressures of up to 6 bar.
Our Air ovens are capable of a maximum of 420 oC with slow cooling controllers for annealing.
The Vacuum Furnaces heat treat work within the temperature range of 380 OC to 1300 OC with slow controlled cooling or fast quenching capabilities.
In addition we have sub-zero freezing capabilities to -75 OC
