Summary of functions

To set and operate CNC mills to produce aerospace components to customer specification.

This role will include

• Set and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Check your own work using inspection equipment (Verniers, Micrometres, SPG’s and PPG’s).
• In-process inspection to ensure total process control is maintained.
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings to the correct quality standards.
• Ensure that information relating to the manufacturing process is accurately recorded, maintained, and updated to reflect current process on job cards.
• Ensure that preventative machine maintenance schedules are strictly carried out.
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment at all times.

Skills and experience required

• Knowledge of Heidenhain control systems (essential).
• Programming experience of Heidenhain (desired).
• Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent (indentures accepted).
• Aerospace industry experience (desired).
• Experience working with engineering drawings and work to instructions.
• Ability to set and operate different machine tools.
• Comfortable working under own initiative or as part of a team.

Hours:

46 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 6:00pm until 6:00am (basic rate +50% night shift enhancement)
