FGP Systems are currently recruiting for a Manufacture Engineer

Location: Cumberland Drive, Offices

Hours – 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday 7.30am until 5.00pm and Fridays 7.30am until 12.30pm

  

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

To work within the engineering team engineering products offline. Supporting the manufacture of precision products for both internal and external customers. Being part of a progressing company striving to develop its processes and practices to a higher standard while utilising some of the latest machinery in manufacturing our futures.

 

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Engineering Director.

 

The responsibilities of the Manufacture Engineer will include the following:

  • Utilising the current CAM system (MasterCam2018) to produce part programs for manufacture.
  • Team communication – work load /projects
  • 2D/3D drafting (Catia/Mastercam)
  • Write technical Manufacturing Instructions (set up sheets)
  • Allocate set and run times to method
  • Advise purchasing department of tooling required
  • Estimate run times by making the necessary calculations based on material and cutting data (RFQ) sales feedback
  • Report writing
  • Prove new work either independently or with other team members
  • Update machine tool paths to ensure the best practice
  • Make process amendments when necessary
  • Contact customers with any drawing queries
  • Use MRP systems on a daily basis
  • Supporting other group companies when required

 

Successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:

 Previous offline programming experience (Catia/MasterCam)

Ability to create programs for Turning (Turn/Mill) and Milling (3axis/4axis/5axis) machines

Design manufacturing fixtures and produce fixtures

Worked within a precision engineering environment

Experienced in all types of machining techniques ranging from manual to CNC machining

Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload

Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal)

HNC in relevant discipline or higher (desirable)

CAD/CAM System Supplier training (desirable)
